while they urgently await the rains and collaboratively seek solutions to the problems the rains are sure to bring.
The inspiration for African Tea
It was during one particularly hot and dusty dry season while Carter was living in a remote part of Kenya, she found herself desperate for the rains to come, despite knowing the challenges they would bring.
She knew her thatched roof house would leak and the nearby river would swell and trap her in her home for days.
Nevertheless, she longed for rain and the changes it would bring.
